Help a guy out with adsense?

For some reason on my front page my ads are unrelated to the content but when you go to the news page they appear a bit better... does anyone know why I am getting "tech" style ads?

im not 100% on this

but my guesss is its picking up something from one of the modules you have installed

i havnt used adsense much, but i do know you can edit what is shown in the adsense control panel.

maybe someone else can help

take a look at your source code on the page you linked to above,

lots of js in the head, thats all i meant

I can see what Richie means, almost a third of your page source is scripts in the head. :o

I am amazed it all works.

It's not your fault actually, just the coders who wrote lots of extensions which put their js on every page whether it's needed or not.

That said I have no idea why you get those ads. Maybe you should try something other than google?

Hi Josh.

As Daniel and RavenLife allready menitoned, there's really a lot of JavaScript, but very few real content on this page, Google's AdSense bot needs for his ad-script.

Another point is, that Google doesn't only analyze contents, but keywords in hyperlinks. This may be one of the reasons for getting "tech ads".

But there's a little trick you can use, in order to direct GoogleBot to the right way. Define a DIV container directly after your template's BODY TAG. Position it absoulute via CSS with a negative top:-999px for making it invisible to the visitor. And there, in this "invisible DIV container" you can place a text with lets say 500 to 1000 words, respectively keywords.

But: Do not only place your keywords in this element! Google will notice this. Write there a "qualitative good" content as a so called Google feed.

I found a little typo in your source code at the definition of SPAN TAGs with class avatar. There's missing the equal sign. ;)
