One quick question/request before I download it, does it support Joomfish?
My life doesn't depend on it, but it would be nice though;)

Hi Ninja.

I just installed Super Submit beta.
It's very usfull edition indeed, and works good so far.

The only problem is that there is an error message hanging on the admin interface of the com that reads:

Warning: Missing argument 1 for ninjasupersubmit_config::ninjasupersubmit_config(), called in D:\xampp\htdocs\alsomal\administrator\components\com_ninja_super_submit\admin.ninja_super_submit.php on line 36 and defined in D:\xampp\htdocs\alsomal\administrator\components\com_ninja_super_submit\ninja_super_submit.class.php on line 22

Don't know what that is but still it's functioning successfully.

Thanks for your efforts.

Yes a good question. I try to install it on an 1.5.1 but follow errors come up:

* JInstaller::install: There is already a folder called '/path/administrator/components/com_ninja_super_submit/' - Please initially check whether:
• the Extension is already installed
• the file names in the XML file are spelled correctly
• there are no XML files listed inside the extension.xml file
• all of the files (not including XML files) are correctly listed in the extension.xml file and there are no duplicate entries
• there is an empty folder listed from a previous installation attempt
* Component Install: Could not copy PHP install file.

Hi RavenLife.

The installation is on my local server.
Hope the error messages will go away on live site.

Thanks for your response.

Yay!! Oh, hang on ;)

(Richie, while I remember, your avatar looks like a Raven at the eyes of half-sheep-half-man, or am I not getting enough sleep? ;) )

Ninja Super Submit is a content submission component, that allows anybody to submit news to your website from the joomla!/mambo front-end.

I don't have an immediate application for this but is it possible to direct the output of user input (???) into a module position? (Rather than the Front Page)?

Take a look at my fave site, The NMC (seems I've gone from being reluctant to mention it (it's so-oo untidy!!!) to pointing it out with gay abandon!)

Anyhoo, it's "Front Page" is solely generated from RSS Feeds but we've a new guide book (climbing guide book) coming out soon and might be looking for a user-submission [module] for new routes.

Have I read the bumpf correctly and read that this is coming along soon?

Also, is there admin notification of input or perhaps notification to two addresses, i.e in my case it would be "admin@" and "newroutes@".

@Why not joomla 1.5

Because it's a rebuild of Simple Submit which was a J1.0 extension.

Once we have it stable we will look at a J1.5 version.

Link to this post 25 Mar 08

Good Job Ninja !

Is it possible to pre-select one default section/category ?
so that the submitter don't have to..

Link to this post 25 Mar 08

Why not for Joomla 1.5 ?

As dan said its a rebuild of simple submit/ja submit which is a joomla 1.0 component, it has always been my intention to bring out a joomla 1.5 version, it will come with the stable release, it would much rather convert a stable release rather than a buggy one.

Hi RavenLife.

The installation is on my local server.
Hope the error messages will go away on live site.

Thanks for your response.
jalal joblo

thanks for this, i have only recieved the message from 1 installation, i will fix this.

Richie, while I remember, your avatar looks like a Raven at the eyes of half-sheep-half-man, or am I not getting enough sleep?

sheep?

Have I read the bumpf correctly and read that this is coming along soon?

It wasnt my plan to release as a module, but i have recently been thinking about creating a module, that opens up the component in a slimbox like effect. this would allow for you to simply place a link on the page that opened up the component, so no need for another page.

Is it possible to pre-select one default section/category ?
so that the submitter don't have to..

Not at the moment but i can look at putting it in

Thanks For the Input Guys

Richie

You're welcome, the invoice is in the post

baaaaaahh!

Link to this post 25 Mar 08

Yes, I was thinking a simple language file shift controlled by Joomfish instead of the admin back-end.

Great work btw;)

Link to this post 25 Mar 08

Thanks Stian

I have been thinking about the way to handle languages, i took out the ability to upload a language file, as i didnt feel the excess code warranted a usually 1 time only upload

(its just as easy and quicker to use ftp Or Joomla Explorer)

However a automatic language swap is integrated into the system, this has however not been tested, as i simply havent got onto it yet.

Please try create a new language file and see if it works

On the same Note

If anyone does translate the language file to another language, please feel free to share, im sure we can come up with a suitable reward :P

ill get Ricardo to make me up a portugese one

Okey, experienced some strange errors on my install.

I was a little to fast, so I can't remember exactly the 3 files I got this error on.
But hang on, when I install it, I get 3 errors wich says that it's an invalid argument on line 22 on all 3 template files. I use Minted ONe Point Five on my Joomla 1.0.15 install on my live sites back-end.

Just to rule out the idea of a template error I shifted to the default template an tried to reinstall just to find out that it was indeed installed in the first place. Everething seems okay exept for this little message:

Warning: Missing argument 1 for ninjasupersubmit_config::ninjasupersubmit_config(),

called in /home/tipsogtr/public_html/administrator/components/com_ninja_super_submit/admin.ninja_super_submit.php
on line 36 and defined in
/home/tipsogtr/public_html/administrator/components/com_ninja_super_submit/ninja_super_submit.class.php
on line 22

Good news though is that it works fine with Joomfish:D
I just created a new language file for NJ Super Submit, uploaded it in the NJSS language directory and everything worked as expected.
Great work, will send you a rockettheme enabled css file tomorow;)
Sleep tight, you deserved it. If you own a Mac I can send you Pzizz (software for better sleep).
Will send you the Norwegian file once done:)

--edit--
The reason for my enthusiasm is that I have been forced to use Azrul's MyBlog for this quite some time now, and MyBlog's language file only translate partially and that have confused my users a lot. Kudos to this:D

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

yes its looking like this is a problem for many (error message)

i will try to fix asap (havnt had a chance today)

glad to see the language stuff works :P

rocketheme enabled css? were there issues with an rt template? am i missing something ? :D

pzizz sounds absolutely stupid, but i soo want to see if it works :D dunno why it has a windows pic, seems it doesnt work with windows.

@blog software,

in the plugins system i intend to incorporate, i am planning a blog type plugin similar to mycontent, that will allow users to control the articles (publish/unpublish/edit) ect ect.

will be after stable release more likely

p.s

fb sucks - so i edited you include a little to stop the page from stretching, i know the error now :P

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

Okay, found the problem,

for those not wanting to wait untill tomorrow (when i reupload)

you can open up

admin.ninja_super_submit.php

and find

$njssConfig = new ninjasupersubmit_config();

just remove it and reupload the file to the administrator/components/ninja_super_submit/ folder

Richie

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I use Pzizz and it actually works. And there is a windows version, but my license are for the Mac version (yes, I actually payed for it, it's that good)

By rockettheme, I meant a theme that picked up styles spesific to rt.
Don't be offended, but the default style looked ackward on a dark HiveMind...
Good that you are working on a blog component.
Beause Azrul's one license per site style is very irritating for me as they charge a lot for their software.

Amazing ypu fixed it pronto, now you can sleep well, even without pzizz:p

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

I'm getting this also :

Warning: Missing argument 1 for ninjasupersubmit_config::ninjasupersubmit_config(), called in /home/webkinzo/public_html/administrator/components/com_ninja_super_submit/admin.ninja_super_submit.php on line 36 and defined in /home/webkinzo/public_html/administrator/components/com_ninja_super_submit/ninja_super_submit.class.php on line 22

Not on a subdomain

Thanks

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

I have just installed and got exactly the same error. Any fixes yet?

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

Actually I am configuring it and finding a whole stack of categories that don't exist on my website - for example wine & Alcohol, Fish, Pets.

Very weird!

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

Hi Guys

By rockettheme, I meant a theme that picked up styles spesific to rt.
Don't be offended, but the default style looked ackward on a dark HiveMind...

no offence taken, the "template" was mainly to show how much it could be customised over the old version, it could even be taken further if you really wanted to.

I'm getting this also :
...
Not on a subdomain
Thanks

Josh/Jadzia Look at the tope of this page (page3) you will see the fix, i will upload the next version, when i have solved Jadzia's problem.

Actually I am configuring it and finding a whole stack of categories that don't exist on my website - for example wine & Alcohol, Fish, Pets.

That is a strange one, and something that should not happen, i dont believe i changed the categories code (much...)

could you tell me, do you have any of those categories, in the recycle bin?
or do you have any static content named like that?
what happens when you post?

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

I have discovered it is using the catagories from mos_directory which is most annoying lol since that is just like a yellow pages for business on the site. As soon as I have configured it to only show the categories I want (had to leave it for a while) and made it live I will show u - but the site is www.narromine.nsw.au I am using the old jasubmit at present but will change it over to yours asap

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

does mos_directory store its categories

in jos_categories table? im sorry i have never used it before

Richie

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

Yes it does but looking in the database under sections it uses the component name as section - ie instead of the number joomla generates for each category it has com_directory.

Can your component be set to only use joomla default categories not added component ones?

Link to this post 26 Mar 08

Sorry - it turns out after playing in the database that your component was using categories from com_sobi and old extension I no longer use and is NOT using com_directory.

I have deleted com_sobi entries from the categories in joomla and your component is working great!

Thanks

Link to this post 27 Mar 08

I really cant do anything if its added to the category/section table.

however i will look into it

Link to this post 05 Apr 08

Hello,
I wonder why there ar not an publishing and expiration date field fpr users to choose how many days or when their content wil be automatic delete> I se something like that in mycontent component.

Link to this post 05 Apr 08

hey 4romeo, simply because no one asked for it :D

it is my intention to build mycontent into supersubmit in the future, so maybe it will be in there soon :)

thanks for the comments

Link to this post 08 Apr 08

Can you do it now:laugh:
It is very important us my client want to have this for the users submit.
Thanks man:)

Great component!!!!

Link to this post 08 Apr 08

Hi Romeo,

we have had discussions about the integration, and it looks like its going ahead, however its not as simple as just sticking it in, so you will have to wait a bit :D

i will let you guys know when its ready

Link to this post 08 Apr 08

Thank you

Link to this post 14 May 08

First let me say thank you, thank you!

I would really like to see a couple of features added:

Choice to Send submitter email confirmation on submit

Choice to Send submitter email confirmation on approval

Choice to require login to submit - I know that I can show a submit link on login only but it would be nice to be able to show a submit link all the time and have the user redirected to a login/register page if they are not logged in

Choice to use security image to prevent spam entries

Alphabetized section and category lists on the submit page

Link to this post 15 May 08

hi

all these are on my list of things to do

:)

thanks for the input

RIchie

Link to this post 15 May 08

After I left this post I was looking through your code (to see if I could order the lists myself and post the fix) and saw that you had some captcha code commented out for the time being. Sorry I asked for stuff already on your list :( But I am really glad all of the things I would like to see are on it :woohoo:

Is Simple Submit, and likewise SUPER Submit going to be Tiny/JCE/JoomlaFCK WYSIWYG Editor compatible?

This is a really good update to a great tool I love and use - JA Submit - which I use in combo with myContent for user content management.

BUT - the use of JCE Editor is almost CRUCIAL as so many people are slaves to WYSIWYG Editors and refuse-to-use or complain to no end when they have to think a little about formatting their content with "code"

Thanks!

Link to this post 29 May 08

I certainly wish to put this in

i have some big plans for the content submission system, its just a matter of time to updating it

Thanks

Link to this post 03 Jun 08

I am almost happy with joomla 1-1.5 ... but it definitly lacks some stable, easy to use submission component.
I love the core/base system, but the submission and content creation is not on the same level... or same class.
Nice to see, that someone else is working on that "hole".

My Favourite:
The additional Publishing-Parameters of the typical Joomla-Article!
If i had enough time and knowledge, i would have down this mod/hack to the core-submit on my own.

Wish:
- Please, could you add ALL publishing parameters to the component?
And each with a default value and display-option (hide/show) in frontend?!!

- More compatible with all common WYSIWYG editors!

- Joomla 1.5 version planned?

TIA 1001

Link to this post 03 Jun 08

Hi Rex

Just to fill you in on whats planned.

* I plan to implement a backend like interface for the frontend that will be optional to show - ie it will look very similar to the submission system in the backend, and have all the params that come with it

* The next version will be j1.5 native.

* WYSIWYG compatibility is high on my list, again i want it too work very much like the backend (if the admin wants it to)

* Personal Content Management - so the users can edit/publish/delete there content from the frontend (if admin allows it)

* version control

* better more secure moderation options, moderator assigning ect

* multiple views - differnt views for differnt member levels - ie admin vs registration

* plugin uploads

* email submission, and greater email options, ie on new submission email all moderators ect

* assign sections/categories on a per usergroup level - so for instance unreg users can submit to "submit news" category, reg users can submit to "submit News or other categories ect

* better language support

as you can see this is a pretty extensive list and will be a killer app but it takes time :)

btw feel free to add other suggestions, that list isnt a full list of features but you may think of something we havent :)

Link to this post 03 Jun 08

Absolutely genius :-) more than i need, but very much appreciated.

So, you are heading into the direction of Article-Manager from www.thefactory.ro
http://www.thefactory.ro/shop/joomla-components/article-manager-for-joomla1.0.html

Are you dropping the J!1.0 development, if you got a native 1.5 version?

I know, the most hated question ;-) Do you have any timeframe for a new version with the basic features?

TIA!

Link to this post 03 Jun 08

@article manager, nice i hadnt see that before

Time Frame wise I cannot put a date on it, im currently putting a lot of work into the new demo site in anticipation of the relaunch, but i hope to start work properly on it this week.

@dropping 1.0 development.
i actually havnt decided yet, there are a lot of content management extensions out for j1.0, but little if any for J1.5, its pretty safe to say that the next version will be 1.5 native, before it is 1.0

however i am not prepared to commit to an answer ;)

Link to this post 04 Jun 08

Heeeey .. that's not fair :))))

Link to this post 05 Jun 08

:o

(ninja)

Need to be careful about stepping on toes in this business. ;)

Link to this post 14 Jun 08

Such a great component !

I would love those improvements in config panel:

-choose how many images you want to add for read more article (with page class suffix, I'll put a proper CSS to organise all pictures, great addon :) )

-Possibility to hide intro text. (I use the intro image and title in my intro text, so I don't need my users to fill introtext )

EDIT : I fixed that thru CSS, but it could be cleaner...

-Possibility to replace intro text and/or readmore text with a form generated by http://jotform.com/ for example... ;)
So users would have just to fill the form...

-It could be many forms related to different level users (very further developpement... ;) )

I'm going to try with my cut/paste knowledge of php and let you know :)

Thank you !

Link to this post 15 Jun 08

Hello,

I think I found a bug...

While you submit without selecting section/category, you directly create a static article...No warning...( JaSubmit does the checking)

I have allowed only 1 category to autopublish, I don't see "static article" neither in control panel.

Link to this post 16 Jun 08

EDIT : this problem is solved, with a kind of patch, see the link below...My pleasure Daniel, thank you for such great components ! :)

I found an other bug, (same problem in JASubmit submitted here :
http://www.joomlart.com/forums/showthread.php?p=59287#post59287 )

You can't upload twice the same name image, or the last image delete the previously uploaded.

Link to this post 17 Jun 08

Thanks Crony,

I will point this to Richie and he should get back to you all soon.

Link to this post 17 Jun 08

Thanks Daniel !

I'm not sure if it's working the same way, but I've almost managed something to correct that last point into JAsubmit component...

http://www.joomlart.com/forums/showthread.php?p=59287#post59287

Any advices welcome...:cheer:
