Your server has Suhosin loaded. PROBLEMS!

So I installed the BETA version. The backend becomes unavailable and I'm logged out of the admin.

The frontend works fine but there's an error message which is also repeated on the admin login page. If I login all I can see is the error message and little else.

Your server has Suhosin loaded. Please follow this tutorial.

I followed the tutorial and put in a php.ini file in Joomla root and also admin root with the

suhosin.executor.include.whitelist = tmpl://, file://

However that made no difference. I also tried with the .htaccess using the appropriate code there but nothing works.

So this is the current look of my admin panel and I can't access ANYTHING!

What next? I need to either get this fixed or remove the Ninjaboard - how do I do that?

As an update; while logging in the back end sometimes the icons appear but the warning message ALWAYS appear.

When I try to change any of the settings for the Ninjaboard I can't. It won't load at all.

And when I try to add a menu item then the forms don't load properly. I read somewhere that suhosin affects forms somehow.

I rebooted the server to make sure that php.ini was loaded but that didn't make any difference.

EDIT: checked the Joomla backend and in the system it shows

suhosin.executor.include.whitelist no value no value

So it's not changing anything...

Just to put this thread to rest...

In the end I had to make changes directly to the server php.ini file (for some reason I couldn't do it on a domain level). Now it all works fine.

Apart from a couple of Joomla extensions which don't like it but that's another story! :)

Hi aratha,

Apologies for the delay.

Good to hear you were able to sort it out.

Normally it should work when taking the steps provided in the Sohusin tutorial.
If it doesn't then the .htaccess method could work as a last resort.
And if both don't work then it is definitely related to a certain server configuration which can only be changed by hosts. Some hosts just won't simply allow you to modify or pass around PHP.ini modifications.
This is mostly the reason why the tutorial has no effect. But in most cases the tutorial provides a good way to fix the Suhosin issue.

However most of the hosts are friendly enough to do the modification for you.
If you got straight access to the PHP.ini file then you are lucky and it's always best to do the modification right in there.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, much appreciated.

Cheers.

Kind regards,
John.
