Upload avatar don't work

Hi,

When editing a profil, I succeed to explore and select a image file but after, i've got just one button >> cancel upload. is it normal ?
And after when I save, nothing is matter ... I return to the profil but no avatar displayed

Hi lecer,

Apologies for the delay.

Yes, the "cancel upload" button is a normal behavior.

After saving your profile, do you get redirected to the profile's page and get a message "Person applied"?
Or does the saving action makes you stay on the edit profile page?
In this case you might have to enable the "System - Mootools Upgrade" plugin which can be found within the Plugin Manager.

After saving your profile try to clean Joomla's cache and expired cache.
Refresh the page and see if the avatar loads correctly.

Also, make sure you have disabled the "Integrate with Gravatar" option within the settings of Ninjaboard.

Hi,

Sytem Mootools upgrade is already on "on" (v 1.12 on front and 1.2 on admin)
Used Gravatar was on "on" too so I desactivate it but nothing change
After cleaning cache, Itry again :
I chose the image (size and format is ok) ... i save ... and return to the profil but without any message like "Person applied".
Perhaps a problem with CB ?

Ok, thanks for your feedback.

Try to disable the System - Mootools Upgrade plugin and see if this helps.
Sometimes it can work the other way around.

The enabled Gravatar function was probably the issue here.
Make sure you clean the cache *and* purge expired cache.

I think the problem not related to CB.
Both should work fine along the way.

If it still doesn't help, is it possible for you to post a link to the page in question, please?

I thinck i find where is the problem ... it's with sh404sef ... if i desactivate it, it works but i need sh404sef and I don't know how to solve the problem

Glad you found the cause, lecer.

sh404SEF provides a way to disable itself for certain extensions you specify. Tell sh404SEF to ignore Ninjaboard.

The most strange is that even if i passed on ninja and ninjaboard in sh404sef, it doesn't work and i can not upload avatar.
(Before i tried to upload sef_ext but it was the same thing).
Anyway I need keeping sh404sef for Ninja because the first reason to having a forum is to increase the referencement of my site and his virtuemart shop.
For information, I have virtuemart category wich have the same name of the forum category. so I had to apply a url's prefix in sh404sef for ninja.

unfortunately no,
applying a prefix solve the problem between the links differentiating virtuemart category and forum category wich have the same name but not solving the avatar upload problem.
If i want uploading an avatar i must disable sh404sef because apply "passed" on ninja and ninjaboard is not enough.

I would like to inspect what's going on if this is ok with you.

We have had some issues in the past related to sh404sef vs Ninjaboard.
Those issues are not completely solved but have been worked around.

I can't promise you that I can solve it but at least what I can do is try.

It's done, i sent it to you
and for the directory sef_ext .. i made a mistake ... it cause a redirection error 310 so i delete it.
and with sh404sef activate ... i discover that i can not create a topic too :(

Hi lecer,

Thanks for your trust by giving me access to your site.

Unfortunately I was not able to solve it, because sh404sef is not compatible with Ninjaboard yet.
We know there are issues but I just wanted to give it a try again.

I spend quit some time to test several things but nothing lead me to a proper solution or work around.
The main reason is that Ninjaboard uses it's own SEF'd URLs which are handled by Joomla's default routing.
Whatever you try to configure within the settings of sh404sef, it doesn't follow the base URL handling for Ninjaboard.

On our side, we might have to look into this matter again how we can make it work properly.
So, all I can do at the moment is to create a ticket for this issue.

I'm sorry that I can't help you at this time.
I did the best I could.

Please, delete the test account I've created: Ninja.

Currently the dev team is developing on a new version of Ninjaboard (Joomla 1.5/2.5)
Hopefully there's a chance that they can include sh404sef compatibility.
At this time I can't give a solid timeline yet.

I don't need FTP access, thanks.
You may keep the super admin account alive in case for test purposes with sh404sef, this would be very helpful indeed. If this is OK with you of course.

I can let it for 3 weeks at least I thinck ... after the site will be in production so i hope that it will be enough for them.
