Plugin not installing

I'm attempting a new install, and ran into issues so I installed the component, module, and plugin contained within the zip called "packages"

When I try going to the component, I get the following error:

* The «System - Ninja Framework» plugin does not exist, which is a vital part of the Ninja Framework used by NinjaForge extensions. com_ninjaboard installs System - Ninja Framework automatically, so this should never happen. Please post in our com_ninjaboard forums so we can help you out immediately.
* This component cannot run without Nooku Framework.

Hi jhachkowski,

Apologies for the delay.

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with installing Ninjaboard.

From the packages folder, did you also install com_ninja.zip?
This is needed for Ninjaboard to run properly.

I'm wondering why you are trying to install Ninjaboard parts separately?
What is happening if you try to install just the main zip package?

Thanks,
John

Hi John.

I attempted to install the full package, and received the following error:

-1 - An error has occurred.

Unable to create target folder

I then unzipped that pkg, and first installed com_ninja, mod_ninja, and plg_search.

Hi jhachkowski,

Ok thanks for your feedback,

This sounds like a permission issue.
Can you check if your folders on your server have write permissions?

To do so: from the menubar in the backend go to Help > System Info > Directory Permissions.
Check if the folders are marked green.

Also check if your path to your tmp folder is entered properly.
You can check this within the Global Configurations under the "Server".

Let us know how you are doing.

Thanks.

Kind regards,
John

All are listed as writeable, and the path to the tmp folder is correct as the zip package is in the tmp folder.

This is frustrating. Probably my host. Any other tips are appreciated.

Jason

Hi Jason,

Can you please post your System Info here.
To do so, from the menubar in the backend go to Help > System Info > System Info (tab).
Copy and paste the provided info.

Thanks.

Hi Jason,

Seems to me your specs are just fine. Be it somewhat old but Ninjaboard should run on this.

What my attention has is that you might have to upgrade your Joomla version to the current 1.5.25.

I think this will help a lot if you do.

You can update Joomla easily with this extension:

http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-enhancements/installers/9332

Or download a Joomla Upgrade package from:

Joomla dot Org Update versions.

I hope this helps.
Let us know how it goes.

Kind regards,
John
