Ninjaboard 0.5.0beta and no submit

Hi,

I have just installed the Ninjaboard currently available from this site. However I cant seem to be able to post on my board. There is simply no "Submit" or "Post" button. I have tried with IE7(win), Safari(mac) and Opera(mac). Also reinstalled the module. Any pointers would be good.

Also, smaller fontsize/the posibility to change fonttype in the forum would be nice.

It seems however that this forum right here is a ninjaboard too? Which version? It looks abit similar, except smaller fontsize and the submit, preview and cancel buttons I miss so much ;-)

best regards,

Hi pundheim,

Welcome to NinjaForge! :)

Hmmm.. that is weird. Could you show me a link to the site please?

Alternatively, do you use the Firefox browser and are you familiar with Firebug?
If so, can you use its inspect tool to check if the html for the submit button is there please.

This forum is not running NinjaBoard. NinjaForge has not yet been migrated to Joomla 1.5. We plan to do so next month, as soon as we complete work on our Fireboard -> NinjaBoard converter.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Its a temporary page up at http://www.dbwatch.co.uk/index.php

There is also a user created: testuser/testuser

There seem to be references to a submit button in the code, however I dont know why it doesnt display.

I found the problem!

Its just that the default language on the web page is nb-NO and the designs/buttons/ninjaboard_blue doesnt have the buttons in the correct language directory.

I copyed the en-GB dir to a new nb-NO dir and it all works!

Hi Christopher,

I'm glad you found a fix... even before I got a chance to take a look too :P

Thanks for sharing your solution btw.

We will release a second theme bundled with NinjaBoard stable and that one won't have the text in images. That should be more friendly to non-english websites.

Please let us know if you find any more issues. Every little bit of feedback, both positive and negative helps.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks, I will let you know if I find more issues. You can still test it out, and see if you find any errors on it. One thing I can see is difference in look from browser to browser, and also that individual parts of the forum, (board index, inside a individual forum, post a topic/edit topic) have different width in the browser window (Tested with Opera(mac)), is there a reason for this?

Hi Christopher,

No there is no deliberate reason for this, though it could be something in your template css, or ours. I will check it out and if it is NB we will fix it in the next version.

#nbWrapper {

width: 970px;
}

If you add this to your site CSS, or the NB css it will give you the right width.

NB has a minimum width currently and not a fixed width. THere isn't enough content to push it right over to the right hand side. Making that change should sort it out (or tweak the numbers to suit)

Excelent, that fixed up alot. We had some issues with the forum looking different with Opera, Safari and IE7, and that css bit seems to fix that too.

Great to hear Christopher,

By the way, once you have had a bit more of a play with Ninjaboard, we would really appreciate an honest review or vote on the JED page, so we know if we are on the right track or not.
