Hi ugokanain
welcome to NinjaForge. :)
Unfortunately still no news, no. We're currently under High pressure with some other great components.

Hi! Any news yet? I am looking for a Ninja RSS Reader, too.
Thanks,
Ken
Hi guys,
No there isn't a reader just yet, but we do have one in the planning stage.
I want to convert Ninja RSS and Ninjamonials to Koowa and our new mini framework that are powering the new Ninjaboard first, next is a reader.
I would love some feature requests and ideas for what you guys would like to see in it.
Right now It will be designed partially as a lifestream component, pulling in feeds from different places and putting them onto a single page, with custom formatting for each different feed. (e.g. twitter and flicker RSS should be handled differently, as should cnet news.)
While a lifestream is usually based around "your" feeds from your blog, twitter etc. I will be trying to design it so that it can be used a general RSS feed app also.
Another feature I am looking at is something like the old feedgator extension, enabling you to also turn those pulled in feeds into content items instead of the component's storage table if you like.
Anything else you would like to see?
What do you want to use it for?
That sounds pretty great, Daniel. My specific application was to display the RSS Feed for a particular eBay store, actually, the one corresponding to the site's owner.
The ability to display multiple feeds, including any kind of Favorites could enable us to make our sites more like a portal in our niche, which is always good.
Best,
Ken
I'm currently a subscriber and use several of your fun modules! Thanks for all your great work!
I'd also love to see NinjaForge release a good RSS reader.
I run a couple gaming guild websites, and I like to post modules with feeds from the official sites on the front page.
For example, my WoW guild website posts a feed from the World of Warcraft community site, and a feed from the official forums where there are any posts by Blizzard Community Managers (known as the blue post tracker).
I use a RSS reader module that has a tooltip mouseover, a feature I really love. It's okay, but is no longer updated and could use a facelift.
I'm confident NinjaForge could do better. =)
Hi Moonstone,
We would have loved to build a reader module like the one you mention... but have to be honest and say it is not likely to happen anytime soon :(
The reader that Daniel mentioned here is actually a pretty big component and is actually not too far from finishing, but it could take a while before it is released because Daniel has serious RSI with his hands and can no longer code very much at all.
Our other developers all have their own extensions to maintain/develop, but if one of them gets some spare time, we will try to get them to finish the RSS reader component.
Out of interest, do you have a link to the module you use that is no longer actively developed?
Thanks
