Can redirect be used for redirecting an article

I want when someone clicks on a link to an article for that person to be automatically redirected to an external site.

I see the Ninja Redirect 2 is a module, so I have a feeling it cannot be done with that extension. Or am I wrong?

The user clicks on link to an uncategorized article named "apples". Instead of going to the Joomla "Apples" article, they are sent (for exampole) to Ninjaforge.com.

Can this be done with Ninja Redirect 2?
