Hi Ninjaboard

I am having styling issues with Ninjaboard in Joomla 1.5

In IE 9 I dont get any borders around my forums nor do i get the "buttons" Delete topic, move topic etc.(the whole menu for moderator or admin)

however in Firefox it displays correctly (with buttons etc.)

http://www.aeiownu-guild.com and click on the forums link on the main menu.

I have read a heap of forum posts etc and still cant find an answer. This is becoming very frustrating as I have paid for a fair bit of web development already with these forums.

Can someone please help with this

thanks in advance

Hi DarrenC1,

I get a 404 page. Did you remove the forum?

Thanks,
Mark

After reinstalling the forum software the major issue is still aparant, however the menu is now displaying, however it is in a completely different format between IE9 and Firefox.

Hi DarrenC1,

Just to add....

Thanks for providing the screenshots.

As for the IE9 issues I think it's best to upgrade the java plugin for IE9.
This can be found here: java.com
There's a chance that your version of IE9 is missing the java plugin or either needs to be upgraded to the latest java version.

I used IE9 to inspect your site and the forum row hover effect seems to display correct.(see screenshot)
Although I was not able to inspect the buttons.
Is there any chance you've modified the button styling fields within the Settings of Ninjaboard?(see screenshot, this is the default styling)

According to your last screenshot, the "buttons" don't look right to me.
They should be displayed inline. And probably have some styling on it, since you are using one of the latest Yootheme templates. So, again the same question regarding the Button styling.

Also, could you please post your System Info here.
Just from the menubar choose Help > System Info > System Info (tab/link). Copy and paste the listing.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks

I have not done any individual styling for this t emplate.

It is a stock standard yootheme template with some modules disabled.

here is a link to my system info.

Hi Darren.

Thanks for the detailed info.

Your site looks fine to me in IE9 and FF5.
Your system meets the requirements for Ninjaboard.

What you can try to do is update IE9 via Windows Update or download and install the latest version.
Also, download and install the latest version of FF.
This is the only thing I can think of at the moment.
Sometimes it helps to clear the browser's cache, before you are able to see changes (especially IE9).

Yes, there is. It can be done by a script. But you need to have some knowledge of how to implement it.
Or you can simply make a topic of this. Or make a separate forum and enter the notice in the description field? Or write an article? But, it's only meant for IE9 users.
On the other hand, I think this isn't really important because most users are aware of this and have installed Java. Also, other populair browsers are equipped with Java by default. I would not worry to much, I guess.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
John
